The Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at the National University of Management (NUM) is the English-based program that provide students with a strong foundation in the principles, techniques, and tools of computing. It emphasizes the development of problem-solving skills, software design, and system implementation across various domains, including artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and web development. This program integrates theoretical understanding with practical application, equipping students for versatile careers in the technology sector. Structured over four years, the program includes coursework, hands-on projects, and internships to ensure graduates are industry-ready and equipped to tackle real-world challenges.

Our computer science program aims to equip students with a solid understanding of computational theory, programming skills, and the ability to apply these skills in solving real-world problems. Our curriculum focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and creativity while preparing students for advanced studies and careers in the growing technology sector.

The objectives of BSc. Computer Science program includes:

        •  To provide students with a strong foundation in computer science such as data structures & algorithms, programming languages, software engineering, computer architecture, web & mobile development, cloud computing and networking.

Admission requirement


Students who can enroll in a Bachelor of Computer Science must have : 

        •  Have BAC II diploma overall grade: A-C
        •  Math grade: A-C
        •  An English-based entrance exam or IELTS test 6.0


To obtain Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, students must study 4 years and earn at least 120 credits. In the second semester of the fourth year, students must pass all subject exams and succeed in defending their bachelor's theses.

Our Profe

Professor Dr. Chhay Phang

Professor Dr. Chhay Phang is the Dean of faculty of Information Technology at NUM. He received his DBA (2017) from NUM, His MBA (2001) from UMM Malaysia, His Msc. ICT (2005) from UUM Malaysia, and His Bsc. Computer Science (1997) from Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam.

His teaching and research interests are Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Management Information System, and Quantitative Analysis.
Dr. Chay Sengtha

Dr. Chay Sengtha is an advisor to NUM. He is also a managing director at E-KHMER Technology Co., Ltd. He obtained a Master of Management and Information Technology from Kyoto University in 2004 and a PhD in Applied Informatics from University of Hyogo in 2011. He is interested in teaching blockchain technology and business startups.

Associate Professor Dr. Chhun Rady is the Chief of IT department (Faculty of Information Technology) at NUM. He received his DBA (2012) from NUM, His MBA (2001) from UMM Malaysia, Bachelor degree in accounting (1997) from NUM. His Teaching courses Research methods.    
Mr. akira morita
Mr. Morita has 20 years experiences as a freelance designer, facilitator, and consultant in organizational development, change and innovations. He has experience with cross-cultural collaborations in Ireland, the US, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia. He holds a bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management from the US. Mr. Morita is fluent in both English and Japanese. Currently, Mr. Morita teaches Design Thinking course at the Faculty of Digital Economy, NUM.
Mr. Oum Saokosal
Mr. Oum Sao Kosal is currently a part-time lecturer at NUM. Besides he works as a Dean of Faculty of Computer Science at NPIC. He holds a Master's Degree in Information Systems (2010) from Jeonju University, South Korea. His teaching and research interests are Mobile App Development, Computer Programming, and Data Science.
Dr. Cheav Kirirom
Dr. Cheav Kirirom is currently a government official at the National Audit Authority. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the National University of Management in 2021. He was awarded a scholarship of the International Mobility Program to advance scientific research at Southern Denmark University in 2018, and also obtained the Asia Exchange Program for Youth Online Collaboration and the Future of Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2008. Dr. Cheav has worked for many well-known airlines industries, and acted as strategic policy formulator and researcher. He is interested in Design Thinking and Research Methodology.
Dr. Hnin Myint

Dr. Hnin Myint is currently a Research and Development Manager at Orlando Ltd in the United Kingdom. Her career is focused on implementing expert systems and advancing technology in Computer Science. 

Dr. Hnin was awarded her Ph.D. in Computer Science from The Open University, United Kingdom, in 2018, where she received a full-time studentship funded by the Department of Computing and Communications, Engineering & Innovation. Her doctoral research made a significant impact on the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Multi-Agent Systems, and Computer Vision particularly in developing innovative solutions for real-time video umpiring.

Prior to this, Dr. Hnin earned her International Master of Information Technology with first-class honours at King Mongkut’s University of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand, under a full scholarship, showcasing her dedication and academic excellence. Her contributions to academia are reflected in her numerous publications at international conferences across the UK, US, Japan, and Thailand.

Mr. Sok Moniroith

Mr. Sok Moniroith has been working as an IT lecturer at NUM for over 10 years. He aims also a Web Developer who is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all the websites are working fine. Especially, Learning Management System (LMS) which it has just been developed during Covid-19 pandemic to manage student registration, payment and academic activities through online.Furthermore, He is head up of Google Classroom to make it accessible in every semester to all lecturers here to use it as the virtual classroom since the pandemic in 2020. 

He got high school diploma in 2001 and continue his Bachelor in IT major because He found that 21st century has come to be known as the era of Information Technology and it is the key driver of economic growth of not only in Cambodia, but rather the whole world. furthermore, the computer hardware in that year has been soaring every day so that both computer hardware and software were the big issues so i think that studying in IT field will be more useful in the future soon.

In 2005, He successfully completed my bachelor’s degree of IT from RUPP (Royal University of Phnom Penh) located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. During his undergraduate studies He has been a brilliant student, He was also a good football player in the university. He has more experiences as a web developer in some private companies such as Gateway Communication, advertising company, Angkor Century Resort & Spa, Hotel, Khmerpage Solution and Canadia Bank…. etc. for around 10 years before moving to the NUM.
Asst. Prof. Sreng Vichet

Prof.Sreng Vichet has a diverse educational and professional background, highlighted by his role as an Assistant Professor, obtained in June 2023 from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. He holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology (2014) and a Bachelor’s Degree in both English Language and Literature (2014) and Information Technology (2011). Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Mechatronics and Information Technology at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, specializing in Hybrid Optical Character Detection and Scene Text Recognition.

He has completed various specialized training workshops, including a UNESCO UNITWIN Data Science Camp on Machine Learning (2024), and workshops on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (2022). His professional development includes international training on personnel management and public services in Belgium (2019), staff training under the Erasmus+ program in Spain (2018), ACU e-Learning Expert Training in Korea (2019).

Mr. ngin pidor
As a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology at NUM, Mr. Ngin Pidor has a rich academic background and professional experience. He obtained his master’s degree in business information technology from RMIT University Australia in 2016. He also graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in 2008 and 2003. He is also a Deputy director of the Information Technology department, with 15 years of experience in the IT banking sector, IT project management, Blockchain and FinTech. He is an expert in teaching Technology and Organization Strategy, Business Process Design, Information Systems and innovation in Smart Cities, and Research Methodology.
Mr. Lon Chanborey
Mr. Lon ChanBorey currently works as founder/director of LIT Solutions Ltd in the United Kingdom (UK). He has over 15 years of experience in business management, managed IT services, cloud solutions and cybersecurity. Prior to establishing his own business, he gained valuable experience working for IT companies in the UK. He also held positions as the head of the IT department and as a lecturer at the University of Puthisastra in Cambodia. Mr. Lon holds two master’s degrees from the UK and Thailand. He completed his MBA with a commendation award from the University of Bedfordshire, UK in 2015. He was granted a scholarship to pursue a Master of Information Technology degree at King Mongkut’s University of Technology in Thailand, which he successfully completed with first-class honours in 2008. Throughout his career, Mr. Lon has actively pursued professional development and has obtained certifications from Microsoft and Cisco, including Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), and Certified Cisco Instructor for ITE and CCNA courses.
Mr. try Socheat
Mr. TRY Socheat is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Public Policy at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, China, as part of an English-Taught Program (2022-2027). He holds a Master's degree in Smart City from SungKyungKwan University, Korea, and a Master's in General Management from the Royal University of Laws and Economics, Cambodia. Additionally, he earned two Bachelor's degrees: one in Computer Science from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and another in Economic Development from the Royal University of Laws and Economics. With over a decade of experience, Mr. Socheat has been serving as Director of the Department for Training and Development at the General Secretariat for Population and Development (GSPD), Ministry of Planning, Cambodia, since 2007. He has also spearheaded digital initiatives, such as the Digital Employee Management System and the establishment of GSPD’s public website. Alongside his governmental duties, Mr. Socheat has been a contract instructor at the National University of Management, teaching Information Technology courses since 2011. He is passionate about capacity-building, technology research and studies, and promoting digital transformation within the public sector.
Mr. Dith Sochang
MR. Dith Sochang is a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology at the National University of Management (NUM). He had received two master degrees, one in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Bangalore University in 2018, India, and the other in Master of Finance from NUM in 2013, Cambodia. On top of that, he also graduated with two bachelor degrees, one in computer science and the other in mathematics, respectively. His teaching covers many specific courses and areas, such as business statistics, system administration, and network and security.
Mr. Srun channareth
Mr. Srun Channareth is a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology at NUM. He obtained his B.Tech degree in Electronics Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) in 2012 and his M.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in computer, control and electronics, from Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia, in 2018. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Mechatronic and Information Technology (MIT) and leading the Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Laboratory at the Department of Electronic Engineering at NPIC. He has several publications in conference-journal index in Scopus. His research interests include AI, robotics and programming for embedded systems.
Mr. un sok oeun
Mr. Un Sok Oeun received his Bachelor of Engineering(B.Eng) degree in Electronics Engineering from National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia, in 2009 and Master of Engineering (M.Eng) degree in Electrical and Telecommunication System from SoonChunHyang University, South Korea in 2013. He is currently a PhD candidate at Institute of Technology of Cambodia(ITC) and Telecommunication Department Head and lecturer of Electronic Faculty in NPIC and his research interests are Telecommunication System, Satellite Communication, Fibre Optical Communication, Microwave System, and especially Amateur Radio Network.
dr. kak soky

Dr. Kak Soky is the holder of Doctor in Informatics specializing in Automatic Speech Recognition from Kyoto University, Japan. His research interests lie in applying machine learning methods for speech and language tasks, including automatic speech recognition, machine translation, and speech translation.

He has more than 10 years of experience in teaching and conducting research.  He has also been a software developer for more than 4 years. He has published more than 10 scientific papers in both International Journal and Conference. He is currently the assistant to Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and a member of the Digital Transformation Unit (DTU).  
Mr. Kong chanpanith

Mr. Kong Chanpanith, Chief Sector of IT Department at National Bank of Cambodia. He received his master degree (2019) in ICT Convergence from Handong Global University, his master degree (2015) in Computer Science from Royal University of Phnom Penh, and his bachelor degree (2012) in Computer Science from Royal University of Phnom Penh.

His Teaching Course include Database Management System, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology Project Management, Business Statistic, Technology Resource Management, and Technology in Financial Service.  
Mr. Phal Eangheng
Mr. Phal Eangheng  is a skilled engineer and data analyst with a strong background in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial & Systems Engineering. With a Bachelor’s degree from Mahasarakham University and a Master’s in progress from Prince of Songkhla University, he has a deep technical foundation. His professional experience spans roles such as Project Engineer, Lecturer, and Data Analyst in both private and public sectors in Cambodia. His expertise in project management, data analysis, and engineering coordination is complemented by his teaching experience and ability to deliver data-driven insights for organizational improvement. Fluent in English and Khmer, he brings a diverse skill set to every role he undertakes.
dr. LIM pheng Un
Dr. LIM Pheng Un is a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology at NUM. He earned an MSc and PhD degree in Computer Science from Kangwon National University, South Korea in 2017 and his BSc in Computer Science from the Royal University of Phnom Penh in 2009. He teaches courses such as Database Use & Design and Advanced Database Systems with SQL Server. His research interests include Database Systems, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing.
Mr. Khun sopheap
Mr. Khun Sopheap is a freelance researcher. He received both bachelor degree and master degree in Computer Engineering from Hiroshima University (Japan) in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He teaches many courses including introduction to computer science, data structure and algorithms, and digital system.
Dr. Bonarin Hem
Dr. Bonarin Hem is a seasoned academic leader and organization development expert with over two decades of experience in higher education management. He holds a Ph.D. in Organization Development from Assumption University, Thailand, and has served as President and Vice President of Academic Affairs at private higher education institutions. Dr. Hem specializes in strategic planning, academic quality assurance, leadership development, and international collaboration. He has been a frequent contributor to national accreditation efforts and holds multiple international certifications, including from Harvard Business School, University of Hong Kong, and College of Asia Pacific Post Union. His work reflects a deep commitment to educational excellence, innovation, and inclusive development

Center of Excellence for R&D and Innovation

The National University of Management’s Center of Excellence for R&D and Innovation (CERI), previously NUM-Research Center, was established in 2013. It emerged from the university’s initiative to bridge academia and the business community,fostering collaboration. CERI also aims to promote research activities among faculty members and researchers worldwide, enhancing innovation and knowledge exchange. Motivated by the strong commitment of NUM management and staff, several development partners, including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the United Nations Development Program in Cambodia, have provided support for the implementation of various project activities under the center.

ASEAN Economic Research Institution

The National University of Management is proud to be chosen by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports to establish an institute dedicated to supporting academic research. The institute will focus on economic issues and policy development, aligning with the goals of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) The establishment of the ASEAN Economic Research Institute confirms NUM’s commitment to enhance and encourage research among faculties in the area of economic strategy and policy. The initial impetus for this project comes from Cambodia taking the Chair of ASEAN in 2022 and it is expected that research will be initially driven by the theme and direction of Cambodia’s chairmanship in continuing the development of AEC in line with the ASEAN Charter.

Center for Digital Law

The Center of Digital Law is located in the NUM’s Veal Sbov Campus and collaborate with other related faculties including School of Public Policy, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Digital Economy, Faculty of Information Technology, like-minded research centers as well as NUM School of Graduate Studies. The missions of the Center for Digital Law at NUM include (i) technology transfer support (acting as Technology Transfer Office-TTO);(ii) research and study on technology and digital laws; and (iii) legal training.

The CamboVerse Center

The CamboVerse Center focuses on exploring and developing virtual and augmented reality experiences with a particular emphasis on Cambodian cultural and historical contexts. Such a center promotes the preservation and innovative dissemination of cultural heritage through modern technology, making it accessible to a global audience and future generations. By merging technology with cultural education, the CamboVerse Center hopes to foster a deeper global appreciation and understanding of Cambodian culture, history, and  contributions

This unit offers comprehensive guidance and counseling services addressing both academic and personal concerns, thereby enhancing the overall student experience and supporting their holistic development throughout their academic journey.



NUM Social Innovation Lab

The NUM Social Innovation Lab is part of the EU-funded South-East Asian Social Innovation Network (SEASIN), with additional support provided by SMART Axiata. The Social Innovation Lab serves as a space for seminars and interactive workshops on social innovation and entrepreneurship. It also functions as an incubator to help develop and launch new social ventures



NUM Career Center

With the support of USAID Cambodia, the University of California Berkley (UCB), in collaboration with The Asia Foundation and the National University of Management, has launched the “Digital Career Development” project. This five-year project aims to enhance digital employment skills by strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions in Cambodia to receive international standard assessments, increase the number of scholarships, internships and relationship building opportunities to support the implementation of skills and employment opportunities for Cambodian youth. NUM as a partner of the project, commenced the Career Center supported by USAID.

The Digital Technology Center(DTC), donated by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication, is dedicated to developing university research hub, corporate innovation facilities, training center,  and community tech hub, aiming to advance digital skills, technologies, and transformation across various sectors. The DTC provides essential infrastructure, expertise, training, and supports to promote digital innovation and inclusion.
